Regulatory basis
This programme is delivered under EASA Part-FCL.740.A and Appendix 9. Revalidation must be completed within the three calendar months immediately preceding rating expiry to preserve the original expiry month. Every IR revalidation since 26 April 2021 must include an RNP APCH to retain PBN privileges (FCL.055).

How to book

- You send a scan of your licence, medical, logbook and last LPC/OPC record for the pre-brief.
- You arrive in Bangkok on the day before, complete pre-brief the morning of the session, fly the check, and receive the documentation before you leave.
- The paperwork package is submitted to your State of Licence Issue and a copy is sent to you.
Frequently asked questions
What is A320 type rating revalidation?
Revalidation is the process by which an EASA A320 type rating is kept valid before it expires. Under Part-FCL.740.A, it is achieved by passing an Appendix 9 proficiency check in a qualified Full Flight Simulator with an EASA-authorised Type Rating Examiner during the three months preceding expiry.
Is revalidation the same as renewal?
No. Revalidation happens before the rating expires and preserves the original expiry month if flown within the three-month window. Renewal happens after the rating has expired and requires additional refresher training assessed by the ATO.
What paperwork do I need to bring?
EASA Part-FCL licence, valid Class 1 medical, passport, pilot logbook with recent PIC or SIC sectors, last LPC and OPC records, and — if applicable — your PBN endorsement record.
Which State of Licence Issue authorities do you support?
Documentation is prepared for submission to any EASA Member State authority: for example the IAA (Ireland), AESA (Spain), DGAC (France), LBA (Germany), ENAC (Italy), the UK CAA, Transport Malta and CAA Netherlands. Turnaround varies by authority.
Can I share the session with another pilot?
Yes. A four-hour Full Flight Simulator slot is commonly split between two pilots — each flies as Pilot Flying while the other acts as Pilot Monitoring. If you do not have a partner, we can help match you with another candidate.
Do you handle PBN endorsement during the session?
Yes. Since 26 April 2021 every Instrument Rating revalidation must include an RNP APCH to keep PBN privileges. The AEROWA revalidation profile always includes one. A standalone FCL.055 PBN endorsement is also available if you do not yet hold PBN privileges on your licence.

How is the documentation delivered?
The Type Rating Examiner signs the Certificate of Revalidation on the day. AEROWA submits the paperwork package to your State of Licence Issue on your behalf and provides you with a copy for your records.
